2011 has seen significant change and growth at Houghton, which will ensure a continuation of the best quality products and service for our customers.

In February our capacity was extended by acquiring Shell’s metal-working business.  This brought significant advantages, so that after some months of assimilation we have been able to consolidate the best out of the two combined businesses in Europe:

·    Modern production facilities in Dortmund and Turin are the focus of significant investment, enabling the closure of older and less efficient facilities in Wuppertal and Genoa without loss of production capacity

·    A massively extended and stronger combined portfolio of products means Houghton can meet a wider range of customer needs

·    We have retained our best talent and a committed and focused workforce dedicated to high performance

·    We are sharing best practice from both companies and are stronger as a result, focusing more resource on our customers and on delivering great value.
