Getting started
When you join Houghton, we will give you induction training so you can familiarise yourself with your role, team and department. Over the first six months, product specialists and mentors will help you to learn all of the core skills you will need.

Long-term development
We hold individual performance reviews regularly to make sure we are getting the most out of you.  They give you the opportunity to set goals for yourself and get feedback on your continued progress.

Management development is directed towards enhancing your skills and leadership ability to ensure we realise your full potential.

Houghton University
In order to support the development and training of our employees, Houghton has an online training tool called Houghton University, created in conjunction with Skillsoft.  SkillPort™ is a web-based e-Learning portal where you can access a range of training resources at work, at home, and on the road ... whenever and wherever you have the need and time.

 

Recruitment Process

Your application is important to us and we will make every effort to keep you informed at every stage.
We manage all vacancies through our Manchester head office, and always follow the same recruitment process:

  • If your initial application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview. If there are special requirements for your interview, such as conducting a presentation, we will let you know what to expect from the day.
  • During our process for the second interview, you will also have the opportunity to meet members of the management team. We will discuss and consider your career aspirations and experience for the role you are applying for.
